PHOTO INFORMATION: State Rep. Jamie Thompson speaks at a graduation ceremony for nursing program students at Dorsey College on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Thompson, who is a Licensed Practical Nurse, also spoke at the college’s 2024 nurses pinning ceremony. She serves on the House Health Policy Committee and the House Health Policy Subcommittee on Behavioral Health.
“It was a tremendous honor to speak before the graduates and their families,” said Thompson, of Brownstown. “Witnessing our next generation of nurses taking their walk with their lighted lamp, taking their Florence Nightingale Oath and Pledge, and receiving their pin was a beautiful thing. These hardworking graduates are critical to the health and well-being of our families and communities in the years ahead, and it was exciting to see them begin their journey with this ceremony.”
One of Dorsey’s Practical Nurse programs is housed at its Woodhaven campus, an area Thompson represents as part of the 28th House District.
